Abra is regarded as one of the Philippine Hip-Hop’s most promising emcees with his exceptional lyricism, extensive vocabulary, ingenious literary technique, speed and lucidity of delivery and fiery stage presence make him a force to be reckoned with the music industry evident in his guesting at Julie Anne San Jose’s It’s My Time concert held in Music Museum recently. Abra performed freestyle rap and a rap showdown with Julie Anne in the concert. It’s an outstanding cover of Abra’s Gayuma with Julie Anne where fans were crazy over their performance. Gayuma was originally collaborated with Thyro and Jeriko Aguilar. Here’s a sample of the happenings in the concert, video below courtesy of wrangel15.
Abra’s Gayuma was a rise to success and has become viral with more than 21M views on YouTube, bagging 2 awards in the 2013 MYX Music Awards as Favorite Urban Video and Favorite Music Video. Download Gayuma on iTunes HERE.
Also, Abra has been part of Juan Dela Cruz’s OST, he performed Alab Ng Puso, his original composition, inspired with the conveyed values of the series which stars Coco Martin. Download the OST on iTunes HERE.
Ilusyon is Abra’s second solo track released under Artifice Records, a well-written song about the country’s socio-politics and a collaboration song with Philia vocalist Arci Muñoz. Here’s a glimpse of the video directed by Raymond Abracosa himself.
It’s still a dream come true for Abra as he enters into the mainstream, he is the newest addition to the Ivory Music & Video family. Watch out for his upcoming album soon as he dominates Pinoy rap and elevates the culture of hiphop. He is ready to make a name for himself and soon to become the next big rap sensation. I’ve seen Abra’s sincerity with his craft and I’m looking forward to more Abra collaborations with different OPM artists soon.
